Male Show-offs at SeaQuarium Weston.
- (Added 12. Jun. 2013)

As we start to celebrate the favourite men in our lives this Fathers Day, SeaQuarium wants to celebrate their biggest male show-offs. The most impressive and proud being their 15 year old Unicorn Surgeonfish (Naso unicornis) named for the unicorn-like horn on its head.

In the aquatic world it is often the male that makes all the effort to win over a mate by developing stunning colours or, in this case, a horn to impress their more dull and simple-looking female counterparts.

Come and pledge your promise to our oceans this Oceans Day
- (Added 8. Jun. 2013)

World Oceans Day celebrates how important our oceans are to us. They regulate climate, produce oxygen and absorb excess carbon dioxide, provide food and create recreational opportunities.

The idea of a day to celebrate the ocean was first proposed in 1992 at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro by the Government of Canada. It was unofficially celebrated until 2009, when the United Nations officially declared June 8 of each year World Oceans Day.

Junior Aquarist Event
- (Added 21. May. 2013)
Have you ever envied the job of an Aquarist?  - Here's your chance to try it out!

We are offering you the chance to roll up your sleeves and really get involved in the daily work of an aquarist by spending 2 hours (from 2pm - 4pm) with experienced aquarist staff helping with food preparation, feeding, testing our water and anything else that might happen!

It's a chance to see what happens behind the scenes at this amazing attraction and learn all the silly animal names, weird fish personalities and funny facts to be found at Weston SeaQuarium directly from the animals care staff. Following your placement you will receive a signed certificate and a glossy picture of your favourite species from the aquarium as a memento of your special day and you are welcome, of course, to bring along a camera to capture your special moments.

Food Glorious Food
- (Added 21. May. 2013)
SeaQuarium has gone food crazy this May bank holiday as staff start to prepare more and more food as their family grows bigger. They are not only feeding buckets of squirmy squid to the large native Sharks and Rays but also cutting up baby sized portions for the juvenile Rays in the Ray nursery. Their newest arrivals, the Moon Jellyfish, need the smallest feed yet of tiny, live shrimps called Artemia which need to be carefully hatched and gathered to feed four times during the day. All this feeding has left the animals very happy and full but staff very busy.
