Am I a fish?

The Oceans are homes to many Sea Creatures, but not everything that lives there are fish, and not all fish look like fish either. A fish must have a backbone and gills for breathing but they can come in in many shapes and sizes.

Seahorse
The Seahorse is actually a type of fish which belongs to the Syngnathid family of Bony fish. It is a strange looking fish as it has a long, thin body covered by lots of overlapping bony plates, which makes an effective protection against predators.

Seal
Seals live in the ocean, however they are Mammals rather than fish, all Mammals are warm blooded and give birth to live young.

Crab
The Crab is a Crustacean, its shell is an exoskeleton which means its skeleton is on the outside. It is made out of calcium and its also called a carapace.

Southern Stingray
The Southern Stingray is a type of fish and belongs to the family of Rays.

Octopus
The Octopus is a member of the Cephalopod family. Cephalopods have unique abilities such as being able to change the colour of their skin so that it blends in with the surroundings.

Basking Shark
The Basking Shark is also a type of fish and belongs to the Shark family. A Shark's skeleton is made out of cartilage rather than bone.
