Common Lionfish
Coral reefs are created by little animals
called Polyps which divide as they grow slowly
making coral. When lots of coral is made they
form reefs on the sea bed. The Lionfish is
one of the many creatures that can be found
living in the coral reefs. |

Bellied Piranha
Red Bellied Piranhas live in the warm
freshwater rivers of South America though
they have been introduced to other areas such
as Brazil and Central America. They have incredibly
sharp teeth and a large school of Piranhas
can eat a whole animal in minutes. |

Estuary Seahorse
There are many different species of Seahorse.
Most live in tropical waters and coral reefs,
however the Estuary
Seahorse can be found in British waters. The
male Seahorse gives birth to its young by
keeping the eggs in a pouch on his stomach
until they are ready to hatch. |

African Clawed Frog
The African Clawed Frog spends its whole
life underwater. They can often be found in
large groups in relatively small ponds and
water-holes. Although they are native to Africa,
they are also now a common household pet. |

Southern Stingray
The Southern Stingray lives in warm, sandy
and muddy shore bottoms along the ocean coast
from New Jersey to Brazil and spends most
of its time buried in the sand. It has a long
tail which has a sting made out of bone to
stab predators and poison them with venemon. |

Porcupine Fish
The Porcupine Fish can be found in shallow
tropical waters and turtle grass beds in the
Pacific, Indian and Atlantic
Oceans. They have camouflage, meaning that
they can blend in with the rocks where they
like to hide. |
