Rhyl SeaQuarium has an open seafront location and sits on the beautiful North Wales coastline.
We would like to welcome all new explorers to join us on a voyage of discovery as we travel beneath the waves, from tranquil fresh waters to the cold depths of the abyss. Along the way we will encounter the strangely shaped sturgeon, as well as sharks found off our very own coast and rays that glide effortlessly through the water.
We will also find solitary lobsters, conger eels and mystical axolotls before entering the Lethal Reef, home to some of the most poisonous animals on our planet. These are just a few of the amazing, strange and beautiful animals that await us on our adventure.

Bronze and Tondy, the resident south African Sealions at SeaQuarium, may be the world's most intelligent Sealions, after their keeper, Zoe Kelly, found them playing football against each other. Zoe saw the raw talents in both Sealions and trained them to perform a range of aquatic activities. Bronze can play football, basketball and even limbo dance under a bar. Tondy can do a double header with a ball! Both Sealions definitely have a talent for football, these genius's of the water can also catch hoops, play frisbee and take penalties during there daily exercise routine to keep their body and mind stimulated. Zoe Kelly, used a training technique called positive reinforcement to train the sealions to perform the skills. This involves rewarding them when they successfully complete a task. Zoe insisted there was nothing fishy about this claim, saying anyone can teach their pet to perform similar skills with a good deal of time and patience. She said, "There is mounting evidence that Sealions are more intelligent than people give them credit for". Here at the SeaQuarium we've gone football crazy and have a new show to display the new skills of the budding superstars. Throughout the Whitsun Holidays we will be having daily tournaments between the Sealions and are hoping the visitors will get behind their favorite Sealion and support them in the final! Visit the SeaQuarium this holiday and see our World Cup Superstars in action. |
