PLACES TO STAY...

Pontins -
Prestatyn Sands Holiday Park

Rhyl SeaQuarium has an open seafront location and sits on the beautiful North Wales coastline.

We would like to welcome all new explorers to join us on a voyage of discovery as we travel beneath the waves, from tranquil fresh waters to the cold depths of the abyss. Along the way we will encounter the strangely shaped sturgeon, as well as sharks found off our very own coast and rays that glide effortlessly through the water.

We will also find solitary lobsters, conger eels and mystical axolotls before entering the Lethal Reef, home to some of the most poisonous animals on our planet. These are just a few of the amazing, strange and beautiful animals that await us on our adventure.

Summer Athletic Boot Camp (July 23rd – August 12th 2012)
- (Added 19. Jul. 2012)

Come rain or shine this Summer SeaQuarium’s South African Fur seals are going sporting mad at team SQ boot camp, as they embrace everything athletic in a bid to see who is the best all round athlete in the Sealion cove. They will be testing their abilities in everything from shot put to triple jump and beach volleyball to football. Mammal keeper Stacy Adams says ‘our youngest fur seal, Solo, has really been getting into the spirit of things and has been training hard to make sure she is as good as the athletes you see on television’.

Naturally in the wild the seals would need their fitness and agility for catching fast moving fish and escaping from predators so they like to stay in shape and even go on a diet for the summer period to lose their winter weight just like we do.

Stacy also added “even our Harbour seals want to show off how athletic they are. Our oldest harbour seal, Wanda, has even started swimming through hoops in a bid to be included in the summer activities”. There are many other benefits of a fitness boot camp at SQ if you can think you can Jump to the sky like our seals and you will also get a sticker saying how high you have jumped. The highest in each age range will win a free seal adoption pack valid for one year plus a free return visit, but remember, only your first jump registers so make it count!!

The South African fur seals will be competing to be crowned the best athlete daily at 1pm and 3pm and we will need your help to decide who has won. We will also be feeding our harbour seals at 12pm and 4pm where Wanda may even get into the spirit of things and show off her talents.

Open from 10am daily

An all-weather Attraction, and a good fun day out for all the family. Children under 3 are free of charge. Tickets are valid all day and you can come and go throughout the day. Don’t forget, our Gift Shop and Café open to everyone.
