EXPLORERS HALF TERM FUN AT SEAQUARIUM RHYL
Release Date: Friday 30 January 2015
BRING YOUR LITTLE EXPLORERS AND JOIN LIVINGSTONE THE EXPLORER FOR SOME HALF TERM FAMILY FUN!
From Saturday 7th February Rhyl SeaQuarium will be celebrating half term with a twist! Join Livingstone the Explorer as he delves below the waves to search for all of its colourful inhabitants in our FREE Explorers Trail. Follow the clues around the SeaQuarium to find the animals and to earn your Explorers Sticker Badge. Don't forget to stop by our FREE Explorers Craft Club and create your own sea creature to take home with you! As well as a variety of Hands-On activities there will also be themed presentations and competitions for you to take part in, all included in the standard admission price.
Livingstone the explorer is also excited as a group of Horseshoe crabs will be joining the displays just in time for half term. Staff are currently working hard getting their new enclosure ready. Aquarist Gaz Mead says ‘We are excited to have these wonderful creatures on display, the Horseshoe crab is considered a living fossil as it has been around for over 220 million years, which makes it older than dinosaurs. In that time the Horseshoe crab hasn’t changed much as it still almost identical to its ancient ancestors’. Gaz added ‘ Horseshoe crabs are unlike other species, with blue blood, ten eyes and five pairs of legs they really are strange creatures. They are also more closely related to spiders and scorpions than they are to crabs and shrimp’.
If you want to explore our Horseshoe crabs up close or learn a little more about these wonderful creatures visit SeaQuarium this February Half term when SeaQuarium will open at 10am with last admissions at 4pm. Standard admission prices are £9.50 for adults, £8.50 for children and £8.99 for concessions.
