SEAQUARIUM CELEBRATES ‘PIRATE MONTH’ IN NEW ‘FANTASTIC PHOBIAS’ ZONE

Staff at SeaQuarium Weston have been transformed into Pirates for the month of August with SeaQuarium’s summer event: ‘Pirate Month’.
Visitors are invited to take part in the ‘Pirate Trail’ to help the SeaQuarium Pirates find 10 lost goblets which are located in each of SeaQuarium’s 10 themed zones. Wannabe Pirates have to find the goblets and solve the riddles on the treasure map to claim their prize of Pirate Treasure in the SeaQuarium Gift Shop.
During Pirate Month, the new for 2014 ‘Fantastic Phobias Zone’ is home to the Pirates on their ship, the ‘SS Sea QQ’. SeaQuarium’s new creepy exhibit will challenge even the strongest of nerves as visitors face their fears with a selection of creatures who, in the past, have had a bad reputation for giving people a fright, including cockroaches, locusts, brown rats and snakes!
Whatever your pet hate in the ‘creepy crawly’ department, the SeaQuarium Pirates plan to allay any tales and fears by highlighting some of the more interesting facts and figures about a few of our less than popular little creatures.
During the whole of August, SeaQuarium Weston is open for Pirate Month that sees last admission to SeaQuarium at 6pm. The aquarium, Driftwood Café and SeaQuarium Gift Shop are open until 7pm.
The standard admission charge applies throughout Pirate Month - £8.50 for adults, £6.50 for children. This includes full access to SeaQuarium, Discovery Trail and all talks, feeds, craft club and hands-on rockpool sessions in Dr. Cods Learning Zone.
