New Explorers Week at Weston for 2014

Weston Seaquarium will be re-opening its doors with a twist from the 15th February. For the first time we will be welcoming 'Livingstone' the explorer, as he delves below the waves to search for all of its colourful inhabitants. From the 15th to the 23rd you will have the opportunity to meet 'Livingstone', as well as take part in a variety of Hands-On! activities, themed presentations and a chance to win a prize by taking part in an Explorers Trail.

Livingstone won•t be the only thing we will be welcoming this half term. Due to the success of our 'Out of the Blue' jellyfish zone, we will be introducing 10 more jellies to join our residents. These Moon Jellyfish, Aurelia aurita, are explorers in their own right as they drift in the currents of the ocean and are found all over the world. Made up of 95% water, they are completely translucent, so you•ll be able to see that they lack brains, a heart, gills and eyes!
 
During Explorers Week there will be some extra fun and activities as well as all our usual talks and feeds, including our main feed of the day at 2:30pm (see our daily talks board for more information). During the day you will be able to participate in craft activities, as well as exploring what can be found in our British rock pools. Take part in our Explorers Trail, and find some of our more elusive creatures to earn your explorers sticker and hand in your completed trail to be entered into our prize draw to have the chance to win an 'Adopt a sea-buddy' pack!

Pick up a booklet, find the answers to the questions around SeaQuarium and play some fun games along the way! Children will even receive a sticker at the end of their visit when shown to a member of staff!
