PIRATE SID AND HIS CREW BOARD THE SS SEAQ!
Release Date: Monday 15 May 2017
Ahoy there, calling all pirates! Prepare for a week o’ ruckas, hoots and hollars, as SeaQuarium Weston is taken over by a band of pirates and their Captain, Sid the Shark!
The pirate event at SeaQuarium Weston is being held from 27 May – 4 June. Captain Sid along with his merry crew will be docking into SeaQuarium Weston to ensure a fun filled, pirate-tastic week will be had by all. Avast-ye for there will be a range of activities going on including feeds, talks and presentations throughout the day.
Sid’s crew have been busy setting up the Jolly Roger and are on the look out for booty! Guests are invited to join in on the fun with activities such as flag making and meeting the Captain himself! At 1:15pm and 4pm guests can come and meet Captain Sid at the ray pool along side his steadfast shipmate Roni. With lots more swashbuckling fun to be had, pirate fancy dress is very much encouraged!
Abby Flynn, Commercial Supervisor said, “Ahoy me hearties! I be one of the lasses aboard the SS SeaQ and this be me first voyage into the deep blue, looking for treasure. Blow me down, it’s pirate week and we have all sorts of fun planned! There is a chance to even meet the Captain himself - beware though, he is a shark and if there be any signs of mutiny he will surely make you walk the plank!”
Guests can join in with Captain Sid’s Pirate Trail (for a small fee), where there are clues to solve and treasure to be found - ten lost goblets are located somewhere deep within the aquarium! If successful, there is some treasure to be claimed from the buccaneer in the SeaQuarium gift shop!
There will also be the chance to relax after treasure hunting with ‘Afternoon High Seas Tea’ available in the Driftwood Café. Meanwhile little crew members can take part in the colouring competition.
