SEAQUARIUM UNDER SEIGE!
Release Date: Friday 29 July 2016
Ahoy, me hearties! Prepare for a month o’ ruckas, hoots and hollars and tales of the sea, as SeaQuarium Weston is taken over by a band of pirates!
Back by popular demand, the pirate event at SeaQuarium Weston is being held from 1st-31st August. The whole centre will be overrun with pirates and SeaQuarium’s band of buccaneers have put together a great range of activities including feeds, talks and presentations throughout the day.
Staff at the aquarium have been busy practicing to become the perfect pirate for the past few months, to get into character for the pirate themed activities and demonstrations that are planned. Guests can bring along their lads and lassies so they can join in with the celebrations, including flag making, story telling and lots more swashbuckling fun - pirate fancy dress is encouraged!
Guests are invited to take part in a treasure hunt (for a small fee), with clues to solve in order to find the ten lost goblets located somewhere amongst the creatures of the deep! If successful, the scallywags in the SeaQuarium gift shop will present them with an award!
There will be the chance to relax after treasure hunting with ‘Afternoon High Seas Tea’ available in the Driftwood Café’ from 3pm. Meanwhile little crew members can take part in the colouring competition.
Paul Strachan, Senior Aquarist, said “I cannot wait to get my pirate gear on! I have been perfecting my, “ahoy, me hearties!” for the last few months along with learning some more pirate lingo. Pirate month is my favourite event here at SeaQuarium, as our unique pirate talks get guests of all ages involved - you are never too old to dress up or cheer along with our pirate chants.”
